Regional Manager - North Dakota

Steve Wisener began his career in housing within the higher education sector, dedicating 17 years to enhancing the residential life experience at several institutions, including Macalester College, Iowa State University and Carleton College where he served as the Director of Residential Life for six years.

In 2012, Steve made a significant career shift by joining the previous owners of Hidden Valley, Woodridge and Maple Trails Apartments in Northfield as a leasing specialist. He quickly discovered parallels between his previous work in residence life and his new role, particularly in fostering community and helping residents find their homes. Steve's dedication and skills saw him rise through the ranks to eventually become Property Manager of the entire Northfield portfolio.

Steve's work ethic is driven by his passion for serving people and working collaboratively with residents and property teams. Outside the office, Steve is an avid enthusiast of public radio, particularly The Current. He loves all things 80's pop, with Madonna being his favorite. Additionally, Steve enjoys building with LEGO, solving puzzles and immersing himself in a scintillating book.

Amy

Assistant Regional Manager - North Dakota

As the Assistant Regional Manager, Amy helps oversee all of the properties that Hegenes manages in Fargo, ND. She began her career at Hegenes in the summer of 2018 as Community Manager and after a year of hard work and dedication, it was clear that she would be perfect for our regional management team.

Amy undoubtedly cares about people and strives to serve them through her ability to problem solve and look for ways to improve all aspects of management. Her heart smiles when people find a place to call home and she gets to hand over their new keys!

In her spare time, Amy really loves planting and maintaining the flowers around her home. She believes there is nothing better than summer when you can hang your bed sheets out on the clothesline, and take in that clean, fresh smell. She will be the first to admit that she isn’t the greatest at golf, but would be the first to receive the participation award! With Amy there is always a silver lining… even though winter is her arch enemy, it does come with the startup of Vikings games and dart leagues!

Maintenance Supervisor - Fargo Properties

Steve's honest, hard-working personality led him to be promoted as the Maintenance Supervisor for the Hegenes North Dakota portfolio. And though he always works hard, he still likes to have fun, both at work and on the job.

"Life is too short not to enjoy yourself" is his motto, and he embraces that at work with a smile that lights up the room and an infectious personality that is endearing to anyone who works with Steve.

Outside of work, he enjoys himself by spending time with his dear family and friends, especially if a lake (and fishing) is involved.
